What to Put in Your Model Bag: The Complete Industry Checklist

I'm Karon Cash, CEO of Wright Hands Management, and I've been in rooms with casting directors, brand clients, and photographers across Los Angeles for years. One of the first things I tell every talent on our roster is this: show up prepared. In this industry, your professionalism walks into the room before you do.

Here is the exact model bag checklist I give every WHM talent before their first casting.

COMP CARDS: Always carry at least 10 printed comp cards. Include your full name, measurements, agency contact info, and your best shots — a clean headshot, full body, and a commercial smile.

DIGITAL PORTFOLIO: Have your portfolio saved offline on your phone. Casting rooms don't always have signal and fumbling kills your confidence.

WARDROBE ESSENTIALS: Nude undergarments, fashion tape, safety pins, a lint roller, clean all-white and all-black fitted outfits. These are your casting neutrals — they let your look speak without distraction.

GROOMING KIT: Travel-size deodorant, blotting papers, a small mirror, pressed powder, lip balm, a fine-tooth comb. You should be able to freshen up in a parking lot in under 3 minutes.

SNACKS AND WATER: Castings run late. Callbacks run later. Pack something clean — almonds, a protein bar, water. A hungry model is an off model.

YOUR MEASUREMENTS MEMORIZED: Height, bust, waist, hips, shoe size, dress size. You will be asked. Know your numbers cold — don't look at your phone.

Wright Hands Management represents models, actors, and commercial talent in Los Angeles. If you are serious about building a real career in this industry, reach out at info@wrighthandsmgmt.com. We are currently accepting submissions from commercially ready talent.
